We are in Santa Pau, a medieval town full of life and tradition. It preserves magnificent manifestations of its past - its wall, the castle, the arcaded square, the winding streets and their inhabitants who revive its traditions with their customs, fiestas and gastronomy.
The location is the parc natural de la zona volcanica de la Garrotxa, the most important volcanic zone of the Iberian Peninsula. It was the first spanish Parq to obtain the European Charter for Sustainable Tourim. One finds here spectacular landscapes all the year round, a principal feature of which are the woods of holmoak, pine and oaks and beech. Other trees to be found in abundance are plain trees, poplars, chestnuts and walnuts which together with the rivers and waterfalls define pre-pyrenean landscape.
Within a radius of 45 kilometers you can find the towns of Vall d'en Bas, Vall de Bianya, Olot, Ripoll, Castellfollit de la Roca, Besalú, Banyoles, Girona, Figueres, all of them of great touristic interest with important historic monuments.
